MountainGuide-Sibiu, with this package would like to transform Romania into a top destination for off-slope skiers.
Less known as a winter destination, Romania can be very attractive during the white season because it has a large array of mountain chains and valleys, perfect for practicing ski touring & free ride.
With this package, we have chosen for you some ski touring & free ride tours in the Făgăraş mountains, the highest and most astonishing mountains in the Romanian Carpathians, also known as the “Transylvanian Alps” and a relaxing ski touring day at the end of your visit, in the Latoritei Mountains.

Day 1: Welcome to Romania
Arrival on the Sibiu International Airport.
Transfer to Sibiu. Guided visit in Sibiu for maximum 2 hours.
Dinner and accommodation in Sibiu in a 3* hotel or 3* pension.
Day 2: 1st day in the Fagaras Mountains - Warm-up day
Transfer from Sibiu till the bottom of the Fagaras Mountains, the Transylvanian Alps , inside the Sambata Valley…
Ascend with the skies about 2 hours to reach the Valea Sambetei cabin ( 1401 m ), Lunch break .
Skiing up to Sambata Valley to reach the bottom of the Budru Peak( 2317 m ).
Skiing down in the Sambetei Valley for about 700 meters of level to reach the Valea Sambetei cabin
Level Difference: + 1350 m / - 700 m
Dinner & accommodation at the Valea Sambetei Cabin( common beds).
Day 3: Skiing down the Cheia Bandei Peak ( 2383 m ) in the Sambata Valley
Skiing up the Sambata valley, about 2h 30 min – 3 hours, to reach the Fereastra Mare a Sambetei Saddle ( 2188 m ). Crossing by skies the main ridge to reach Cheia Bandei Peak ( 2383 m )
Skiing down the Cheia Bandei peak for about 1000 meters of level to reach the Valea Sambetei cabin.
Level Difference: + 1000 / - 1000 m
Dinner and accommodation at the same cabin ( common beds)
Day 4: Good bye Sambata Valley…Skiing down this Valley…Balea, Here we come!!
Skiing down the Sambata valley, in the forest, to reach the minibus and then transfer by minibus up to Balea Cascada Area(1234 m) from where we’ll ascend by cable car to 2040 meters at Balea Lake area. Lunch break.
Skiing down the Balea Valley till the level of 1500 meters.
Skiing up the Balea Valley different route.
Visit the Ice Hotel & Ice Church, unique in the Southern Europe.
Dinner & accommodation to one of the cabins in this area, called Paltinu( DBL room)
Day 5: Skiing on Balea Lake area -Winter paradise of freeride skiers
Skiing up till the Capra Saddle( 2315 m). Skiing up / down few peaks: Iezerul Caprei Peak( 2417 m) or Vaiuga Peak( 2463 m ). Skiing down the Vaiuga valley & Balea Valley till the Balea Waterfall Area( 1234 m )
Ascend by the cable car: Balea Waterfall area - Balea lake( 2040 ).
Dinner and accommodation in the same cabin( DBl room).
Day 6: Skiing on Lady’s Valley - One of the “Pearls of Fagaras Mountains”
From Balea Lake skiing up till Curmatura Balii Saddle ( 2250 m)
Skiing down from here till the Lady’s lake (1863 m).Skiing up to Curmatura Varoasa Saddle ( 2217 m ).
Skiing down the Lady’s Valley till Balea Cascada Area( 1234 m)..Transfer to Voineasa city
Dinner & accommodation to a 3* pension here( Dbl room).
Day 7: Skiing in the Latoritei Mountains( 2288 m)
Short transfer Voineasa – Curmatura Vidrutei Saddle around 30 km..
Skiing up the trail: Curmatura Vidrutei Saddle – Vidruta Glade – Fratosteanu Peak( 2053 m).
Skiing down different routes from the Fratosteanu peak. Back to the minibus. Transfer back to Voineasa..
Dinner & accommodation to the same pension here( Dbl room).
Day 8: Good bye Romania…
In the morning we can have time to ski in a ski resort( alpine ski) or directly transfer to Sibiu..
Free time, shopping, transfer to the Sibiu International Airport..
Flight back home.
